Priyanka Chopra is the new superhero by Virgin Comics

Bollywood actress and former Miss World, Priyanka Chopra announced today that she is teaming up with Virgin Comics to create a new superhero character for comic books, animation and games. The new content relationship makes Ms. Chopra the first Miss World winner to create a superhero property. The partnership also teams Chopra with leading media company Virgin Comics, which was founded by Sir Richard Branson, author Deepak Chopra, filmmaker Shekhar Kapur and entrepreneurs Sharad Devarajan, Gotham Chopra and Suresh Seetharaman.

The new story which is still being developed and currently untitled, deals with an adopted girl who discovers she has a far greater role to play as she is the latest in a line of princesses with great mystical power and a sworn duty to take down evil wherever it lurks. The story is expected to launch first as a comic book series in 2008.
